Dr. Ghoneum currently serves as the Chief of Research at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science, Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Los Angeles, C.A. He also is a Research Associate in the Department of Neurobiology, School of Medicine, University of California Los Angeles, (UCLA).

Dr. Ghoneum has published more than 130 articles and abstracts and currently serves on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Occupational Medicine, Immunology and Toxicology. Dr. Ghoneum is an international recognized immunologist who is an expert in the area of Cancer Immune therapy. This new field depends on the use of biological response modifiers (BRMs) to activate NK cells to fight and eliminate cancer cells in the body.

Dr. Ghoneum’s approach to immunotherapy – identifying new BRMs with few or no side effects – is currently applied in major clinical trials around the world. Results of his studies have been presented at several International Symposia; in 1993 he was awarded the Certificate of Achievement at the Adjuvant Nutrition Cancer Treatment Symposium, sponsored by the American Cancer Society of Natural Immunity, Clinical Immunology, Radiation Research and the American Association for Cancer Research.
